The death of Pinochet

Since 1990 Chile lives an irregular period called, for the men of polity, “transition to the democracy”. This period is full of contradictions and strange facts about the end of the dictatorship and the supposed freedom of the Chilean people. However, the dictator, general director of the army Augusto Pinochet Ugarte, leader of the government, dies in 2006 leaving incomplete numerous court cases that had sought to bring him to justice. This government murdered and tortured thousands persons during his repressive seventeen years in the top of the country. He dies the December 10th at a Santiago military hospital of complications from a heart attack, leaving incomplete numerous court cases that never were resolved.  The day that Pinochet died, the people that were affected for the repression in his government, especially familiars of politic murderers, arrested missing people and exiled people, jump to the streets to celebrate his death. This spontaneous celebration counts with the confrontation of the dissidents of Pinochet against his loyal followers. The police force suppresses the manifestations and reestablishes the order in the front of the Moneda, house of government, where the people went to celebrate the death. The world press published a lot of articles about the importance of this fact and stressed in the pending process about all the crimes that never paid.
